The company focused their efforts on trucking operations in 2008 when it discontinued its livestock operations. After nearly 60 years in operation, the Fuchs family transferred ownership to two local entrepreneurial families to further expand the company and support the Sauk Community. Fuchs now employs over 125 people and has 100 tractors, 195 dry van trailers, 5 reefer trailers and 30 pneumatic tankers with terminals in Sauk City, WI and Minneapolis, MN.

Fuchs Trucking was founded in 1955 by LeRoy and Willard Fuchs. The business started with one straight truck and one tractor‐trailer focused on hauling livestock and forest products. In 1970, the business expanded and moved to its current location. Expansions continued as the business started supporting new markets. In 1990, LeRoy passed away and the company’s operations transferred to his five children and their spouses.

Veteran driver with 30 yrs experience and was mislead from the very start. I quit after 7days This is a business that hires more non cdl divers then experienced drivers. The equipment is not maintained and you as I did will have constant issues with the equipment your given. Dispatch is the worst I've ever worked with. The owner is arrogant and couldn't care less about his help. You will be sold this business is for the driver but its not. The pay is poor for the work. If the employees are treated so poorly imagine being a customer. This is no doubt the worst trucking business i ever worked for. Fortunately I found work the same day I left. No hard feelings just disappointed that I was fooled. When you do quit you will be shorted and your employment offer will not be honored.
I'm a 30 year trucking veteran and I have been working for Fuchs Trucking for almost five years now. I moved from The Netherlands, where I am originally from and where I worked as an OTR truck driver for 25 years, driving all over Europe and the middle east. Fuchs Trucking provided me with additional training, so I could get my European CDL transferred to an American CDL, while getting paid! They have shown nothing but support for me. Even when I got involved in a serious accident, on the second day of the job, in very dense fog. I got seriously injured but, their main concern was always my well being and the entire staff, from management to dispatch to mechanics in the shop, showed immense support for which I am still grateful today.
Great people! Very helpful and caring. Awesome area for drivers to eat and freshen dispatch area and people awesome!
I'm a recent graduate and was told by a recruiter that I was hired and trainingwould start in one week. Then the next week. Then tells me they won't hire recent grads. Lies!!!!
New job, great so far!
This company has provided a lot for its hometown since the beginning.
Dedicated staff modern equipment and attention to detail. But not very fair to new employees that have to deal with underlying circumstances.
Looks Nice as I drive by. Never needed to Stop in.

GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH!
Everything was fine once I got my truck. The controller and owner were good but a little clueless to what goes on. The trainer was more interested in vaping and converting people to his religious beliefs than to observing your driving. Compensation and benefits are below average. Home time is great. The shop is awesome.
Great job for drivers. Good miles and planning to get home-time on the weekends. Nice new trucks and strong maintenance plan for the trucks to keep moving
What is the best part of working at the company? No forced dispatch and actually talk to dispatch, not communicating by electronics What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Sometimes get the feeling your being lied to What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good , I think I already answered this previously What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy, usually don't talk to dispatch until mt or something comes up
If you love trucking, it's a good place to go. Trucks are newer and maintained meticulously. Good, professional, clean drivers are rewarded with time off, new trucks, quick repairs and a family atmosphere. Do your part to succeed with them and Fuchs is a good family.
Good people in the office, just time to move on. Truck driving is a remote job setting and the government makes it so hard to have a more stable lifestyle
